This academic year, Lammas School's chosen House Charity is Jerry Green Dog Rescue and the students of Lawrence, Newstead and Sherwood houses will be hosting various events throughout the year to raise funds and awareness for the work of the Rescue Centre. This morning our school assembly was addressed by Cathy, from Jerry Green's, who provided useful insight into the work of the Rescue Centre and answered many questions from our students. She was ably assisted by ambassadog, Doug the Pug. Fortunately, he has already found his new home through Jerry Green's - which is probably just as well as half of the students, and most of the staff, wanted to adopt Doug! Thanks to Cathy, our students now have a greater understanding of how their fundraising will help the dogs being cared for by staff and volunteers at the Centre. We are sure our students, led by House Captains, Kelsie, Toby and Elle-Mae, will be inspired to think of new and creative ways to raise money this year and we hope you will support them in their efforts.
