Roger Helmer MEP Visits Lammas

Roger Helmer and Primary StudeLammas School students were treated to a special guest when Roger Helmer, MEP for the East Midlands, visited the school on 25 of September. He spent time with both the Primary and Secondary School students and provided a historical overview of the European Union and his views of the current financial crisis. He answered questions on careers in politics.

He is pictured here with members of the Primary School where he focused  on the geography of Europe. It was a very informative time for all.

Roger Helmer said, “I was very impressed with the students and enjoyed meeting them. It is good to see a traditional approach to education, with a focus on achievement; and small class sizes. The students definitely enjoy learning!”

Head teacher Mr Rod Singleton said: “It was good for students to have the chance to meet Mr Helmer and hear first-hand what it is like to be an MEP.”
