Lammas School Students Raise over £1000  Skipping for the British Heart Foundation

Lammas School students raisedSkippathon Chris over £1,000 on Friday 24 June 2011 for the British Heat Foundation (BHF) Jump Off sponsored skipping challenge.

The Jump Off saw 44 pupils aged between 5 and 14 showing parents, relatives, and teachers the range of skills they have been working on over the past 9 weeks.  The parents agreed that it was a veryimpressive performance and noted how much skipping had been happening at home since the challenge began.

The skipping challenge is part of the national Jump Rope For Heart initiative organised by the BHF.  The scheme promotes the importance of maintaining a healthy heart whilst raising funds for the BHF’s life-saving work.

During the morning sessions, the Juniors were assisted by the Senior School students who had attainedJump Off Seniors their Young Leaders Awards and were able to display their leadership skills.

Miss Debbie Mason, Head of Sport, said, “Preparing for the Jump Off has given our pupils a reason to get moving, not to mention have lots of fun.  It’s a fantastic event for the school, teachers, pupils and parents.  We were so pleased with everyone’s efforts and delighted with the amount of money we raised, considering the size of our school.”
